Masterclass “Rythmes et Harmonies” : un dialogue inspirant entre deux pianistes caribéens

Pour l’ouverture de sa saison 2025, l’école de musique Passion Musicale Crescendo a choisi de placer la barre haut en organisant une Masterclass Piano autour du thème “Rythmes et Harmonies”. Cet événement, qui s’est tenu le 11 octobre 2025 au Centre Culturel de Sucy-en-Brie, était animé par Didier Davidas et Sylvain Ransy, deux pianistes caribéens talentueux originaires des Antilles françaises.

Dès les premières minutes, les deux artistes ont su créer une atmosphère à la fois conviviale et studieuse. Chacun a pris le temps de se présenter, revenant sur son parcours musical, ses influences et sa manière d’aborder le piano entre tradition caribéenne, jazz et musiques actuelles. Ils ont également expliqué leur approche de la musique par rapport à l’instrument, la manière dont ils construisent leurs compositions, et comment le rythme et l’harmonie s’entrelacent dans leur univers créatif.

L’un des moments les plus marquants fut lorsque les deux pianistes se sont installés face à face, chacun à un piano différent, pour improviser ensemble. Sans jamais avoir joué côte à côte auparavant, ils ont offert au public une conversation musicale spontanée et vibrante, où leurs univers se sont répondus avec complicité et sensibilité.

Leur échange, ponctué d’anecdotes et de démonstrations, a permis au public de plonger au cœur de leur démarche artistique. Plusieurs participants ont ensuite été invités à s’asseoir au piano pour jouer quelques morceaux, recevant des conseils personnalisés sur la technique, le ressenti et l’interprétation.

Comme à chaque masterclass proposée par Passion Musicale Crescendo, la rencontre fut riche en émotions et en transmission. "Rhythms and Harmonies" Masterclass: An Inspiring Dialogue Between Two Caribbean Pianists

To kick off its 2025 season, the Passion Musicale Crescendo music school set the bar high by organizing a Piano Masterclass centered on the theme "Rhythms and Harmonies." The event, held on October 11, 2025, at the Sucy-en-Brie Cultural Center, was led by Didier Davidas and Sylvain Ransy, two talented Caribbean pianists hailing from the French West Indies.

From the opening moments, the two artists created an atmosphere that was both convivial and studious. Each took the time to introduce themselves, reflecting on their musical journeys, their influences, and their unique ways of approaching the piano—blending Caribbean tradition, jazz, and contemporary music. They also shared their philosophy regarding the instrument, how they build their compositions, and the way rhythm and harmony intertwine within their creative universes.

One of the most striking highlights occurred when the two pianists sat face-to-face, each at a different piano, to improvise together. Despite never having played side-by-side before, they offered the audience a spontaneous and vibrant musical conversation, where their styles responded to one another with deep connection and sensitivity.

Their exchange, punctuated by anecdotes and demonstrations, allowed the audience to dive into the heart of their artistic process. Several participants were then invited to sit at the piano to perform, receiving personalized coaching on technique, feeling, and interpretation.

As with every masterclass hosted by Passion Musicale Crescendo, the encounter was rich in emotion and the spirit of mentorship.
